France Faces Early Heat Dome as Multiple Regions Placed Under Heatwave Alerts

🌡️ An unusually early heatwave across France

The France is facing a significant and early-season heat event often referred to by meteorologists as a “heat dome.” This phenomenon traps hot air over the region, leading to rising and persistent high temperatures.

According to Météo-France, the heatwave is expected to last several days, affecting large parts of the country.

🟡 18 departments under yellow alert

On Monday, 18 departments were placed under a yellow heatwave alert, including the Paris region and surrounding areas, affecting the area of Paris.

Authorities are urging caution, particularly for vulnerable populations such as the elderly, children, and those with health conditions.

🟠 Orange alerts expected in western regions

By Tuesday, conditions are expected to intensify further, with eight western departments moving to orange heatwave alerts.

Temperatures are forecast to rise further, increasing risks especially in urban areas where heat retention is stronger.

⚠️ Safety recommendations

Authorities recommend:

• Staying hydrated regularly
• Avoiding strenuous activity during peak heat hours
• Keeping indoor spaces cool
• Checking on vulnerable individuals

🔥 Close monitoring throughout the week

Meteorologists continue to monitor the evolution of this heat dome, which could shape the start of summer with unusually high temperatures across the country.
